The Le@rning Federation digital resources project works with cultural institutions and other public organisations to open collections to schools across Australia and New Zealand. TLF has funded projects with institutions ranging from galleries to science organisations, museums, libraries, private collections and archives.
To date our project partners include the following institutions and organisations.
| Art Gallery of South Australia | Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa |
| Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers | Museum Victoria |
| Australian Children's Television Foundation | National Archives of Australia |
| Australian Film Commission | National Film and Sound Archive |
| Australian Museum | National Gallery of Australia |
| Australian War Memorial | National Library of Australia |
| CSIRO Entomology | National Museum of Australia |
| CSIRO Publishing | National Trust of Australia (WA) |
| Express Media | Picture Australia |
| Film Australia | Powerhouse Museum |
| Getty Images | State Library of Queensland |
| History Trust of South Australia | Scitech |
| John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library |
Our preferred model of collaboration is to negotiate outcomes and share the resultant intellectual property with our partner institution. In that way, both parties have the capacity to leverage the shared expertise and intellectual property.
TLF is planning a pilot project with the Council for Australasian Museum Directors.
We will work collaboratively across a number of museums and investigate effective digitisation and distribution of content from their collections to schools. We also plan to examine common specifications, selection of content for curriculum purposes, management of intellectual property and effective distribution models.
