The Le@rning Federation's ICT initiatives include the following.
The Sharing Exchange Services project is one of TLF's key Phase Three deliverables, and has been developed in collaboration with two DEST-funded national projects, PILIN and FRED.
The project aims to create a national-level facility to share digital learning content. It requires the development of a central content repository and a metadata registry and will provide sophisticated content discovery mechanisms to schools.
It is made up of three sub-projects: The Sharing Exchange, the Metadata harvester, and the Identifier and access service.

TLF has developed a content management system and an interoperability framework for creating, distributing and managing content and intellectual property rights.
The content management system, the Exchange, is a repository that:
Learning objects and digital resources are stored in the Exchange repository in a form that is accessible and compatible with the online learning services of the Australian states and territories and New Zealand. Compatibility has been made possible by the development of an interoperability framework that ensures all education systems and schools can access TLF content within their standard operating environments.
The TLF-developed CRISP manages the rights for materials sourced from third parties. CRISP collects and holds the digital rights of third-party providers and packages this with TLF content in the Exchange. The rights information is communicated in the Conditions of use statement attached to all TLF learning objects and digital resources.
