The Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC) has signed an agreement with TLF on behalf of all Catholic school authorities in Queensland for Catholic schools to access TLF published digital content under Licence D.
The Queensland Catholic sector has a range of deployment strategies for TLF content including the distribution of digital media and online solutions. The QCEC ICT Subcommittee has provided advice on the options available. Catholic school authorities determine the appropriate strategies for schools within their jurisdiction. Catholic school authorities are providing content via DVD, network services, an online repository and through third-party agents. Catholic schools can also access TLF content through a subscription arrangement with the Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA) under the Learning Place Affiliates Program. Catholic school authorities will provide advice to schools within their jurisdiction as to whether this option is available to them.
Queensland Catholic teachers should refer to their relevant ICT/Curriculum officer, who is based in a diocesan office or Religious Institute School, about access to TLF published content and professional development opportunities within their jurisdiction. Teachers may contact Liam Garvey at the QCEC should they require assistance in identifying the relevant contact.
Each year, key ICT/Curriculum leaders have the opportunity to participate in QCEC forums that highlight key developments such as those associated with TLF. Catholic school authorities are implementing a range of professional development initiatives to support teachers within their respective jurisdictions to embed TLF digital content within curriculum contexts aligned with effective pedagogy.
A QCEC strategic direction is to work at a policy level with state and federal governments to maintain a future focus on the use of information and communication technologies as a strategic tool in contemporary teaching and learning practices. Catholic school authority ICT strategic directions can be found by accessing their relevant websites.
Queensland Catholic schools have been involved in research activities for TLF, and TLF is once again seeking support from teachers and students using TLF content in innovative ways. Queensland Catholic school communities are invited to participate in online surveys, nominate for case studies and be involved in evaluation projects to assist TLF in continuing to provide high-quality digital curriculum content for schools.
