Research and writing

Digital resources writers aim to bring items alive for teachers and students. Each resource includes a succinct description of the digitised item, and an educational value statement that is written for teachers and that includes detailed contextual information relevant to key learning areas across the curriculum.

The following documents provide guidance for writers and researchers preparing digital resources for an educational audience.

Researching and writing a digital resources manuscript

This guide is divided into four sections: the first explains terms used in the guide, the second identifies the important stages a writer should complete before beginning to write, the third focuses on particular sections of the manuscript and the fourth gives an example of a completed manuscript.

Digital resources style guide

This guide is divided into three sections, outlining The Le@rning Federation standards for three aspects of digital resources style: the structure of the resources, a consistent approach within various areas of content, and TLF copyedit house style. Overall, the guide provides support for creating resources of the high quality demanded by TLF standards.
