The Le@rning Federation Schools Online Curriculum Content Initiative

Guide to learning object development

Print page   Email page

As well as creating online curriculum content, The Le@rning Federation aims to deliver project management and quality assurance services to the broader education community. That includes making available systems and documents that we have developed to support production of our online curriculum content.

Over the last five years, and on an ongoing basis, we have created and refined policy and systems that:

  • introduce user-centred design methodologies;
  • establish technical standards;
  • establish pedagogical standards;
  • increase international awareness of Australia's e-learning capabilities;
  • undertake benchmarking activities;
  • create templates for industry to use;
  • communicate the benefits of e-learning to stakeholders and the public.

This section provides insight into the production of TLF learning objects, as well as links to the supporting documentation. We aim to support jurisdictions who wish to undertake further development work independently.

The documents are the product of five years of experience in online curriculum content production. They are evolutionary in the sense that they have been revised and refined over the years as experience and innovation have provided new insights into the best ways of proceeding. That revision and refinement is an ongoing process.
