e-Learning advisers

Since February 2005, e-learning advisers based at the faculties of education in six regional universities have informed schools about the potential of digital content and software to support learning and have promoted the Digistore and Software for Learning websites.

Advisers promote the effective use of learning objects and digital resources and provide support to teachers and colleagues on request.

To find out more about what is happening regionally, contact your local e-learning adviser.

The Linkages Project: Mathematics

This resource, accessed through New Zealand Maths, provides links to Mathematics learning objects covering the five key strands. Teachers can select a strand or level of the New Zealand curriculum to view the relevant learning objects.

The number section of New Zealand Maths provides additional support, with a range of units developed to model effective practice for the selection and integration of learning objects in classroom programs.

The Linkages Project: Akoranga Matihiko

This resource contains Mathematics learning objects that have been repurposed from English to te reo Māori. They have been developed for Māori medium students, and all but the help section is in te reo Māori. Teachers can select a strand or level to view the relevant learning objects.

The learning objects are supported by a range of units of work developed to model effective practice for the selection and integration of these learning objects in classroom programs.
